California Telecom's engineers come on-site with enterprise-grade survey tools to map every square foot of your facility. You get a detailed report with color-coded heatmaps, signal analysis, interference identification, and actionable recommendations — so your WiFi is designed right the first time.
Guessing where to place access points leads to dead zones, interference, and wasted hardware. A professional WiFi site survey uses real RF measurements to map signal strength, noise levels, and channel utilization across your entire facility. The result is a data-driven design that delivers consistent, high-performance wireless coverage — not a best-guess layout from a spec sheet.
Our engineers conduct both passive and active surveys. Passive surveys capture signal level, noise level, signal-to-noise ratio, signal-to-interference ratio, frequency band coverage, AP count per area, and PHY mode coverage. Active surveys measure real-world throughput with upload and download speed tests, wireless transmit rates, jitter, and latency — giving you a complete picture of actual user experience, not just theoretical signal strength.
Your survey report includes over 20 interactive, color-coded heatmap visualizations overlaid on your actual floor plan. See exactly where signal is strong (green), marginal (yellow), and weak (red). Visualizations cover signal level, noise floor, channel overlap, band utilization, AP coverage areas, throughput zones, and more. Every map is customizable and exportable.
Our survey tools support multi-level projects with multiple zones per project — representing different floors, buildings, wings, or outdoor areas. Each zone can have multiple snapshots, allowing before-and-after comparisons when you change AP placement, power levels, or channel assignments. This makes it easy to validate that changes actually improved coverage.
WiFi signals are absorbed, reflected, and attenuated by walls, windows, doors, and furnishings. Our survey factors in the thickness, absorption characteristics, and materials used in your construction — concrete, glass, drywall, metal studs, brick — to accurately predict coverage and recommend AP placement that accounts for your building's unique RF environment.
You receive a comprehensive PDF report that includes all heatmaps, measurement data, identified problem areas, and specific recommendations for AP placement, channel assignment, power levels, and band steering configuration. The report is designed to be actionable — hand it to any installer and they'll know exactly what to deploy and where.

A typical single-floor office survey takes 2–4 hours depending on square footage. Multi-floor or multi-building surveys may take a full day. We schedule at a time that minimizes disruption to your operations.
Absolutely. Many businesses have WiFi that was set up without a survey — resulting in dead zones, interference, and poor performance. A survey identifies exactly what's wrong and how to fix it. We also offer surveys before office moves, expansions, or technology refreshes.
A detailed PDF report with color-coded heatmaps overlaid on your floor plan, signal strength measurements at every survey point, interference analysis, AP placement recommendations, channel and power configuration guidance, and a prioritized list of issues to address.
Yes. Our WiFi Site Survey pairs perfectly with our Managed WiFi service. After the survey, we can design, deploy, and manage your wireless network end-to-end — including hardware procurement, installation, configuration, and ongoing monitoring.
We survey all modern WiFi bands: 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and the newer 6 GHz (WiFi 6E). This ensures your network is optimized for both legacy devices and the latest WiFi 6E/7 hardware.
Whether it's slow infrastructure or critical downtime, we're here to listen.
